When is the best time to travel to Mongolia? That’s a question that a lot of people want to know the answer to. Personally, I think there’s no wrong time to explore this amazing country (I’ve been there a while), but I’ll share with you some information on the different seasons so you can make up your own mind.

And the people are friendly and welcoming, making it easy to get around and meet new people. f you aren’t wanting to travel far from the capital but still get a taste of Mongolia’s breathtaking outdoors take a day or overnight to Terelj where you can see the turtle rock, get your fill of horse riding, even, if you’re lucky, buy some smoked fish from a roadside vendor. Believe me, it tastes amazing!

Mongolia in winter is a land of extremes. Temperatures can drop to -40 degrees Celsius (-40 Fahrenheit) and sometimes even lower. The snowfall is heavy, averaging over two feet each year. Spring is one of the best times to visit Mongolia. The weather is milder and the days are longer, making it perfect for exploring the great outdoors. There are plenty of Spring attractions in Mongolia, from traditional festivals to natural wonders. One of the most popular Spring activities is horse racing, which takes place throughout the country. Spring is also a great time to see the snow leopards that live in the Altai Mountains. These majestic creatures are most active in the Spring months when they are hunting for food. Whether you’re looking for adventure or simply want to enjoy the beauty of Mongolia, Spring is the perfect time to visit.

Mongolia is a vast and varied country, and Autumn is the perfect time to explore its many wonders. Mongolia is home to the Gobi Desert, one of the largest deserts in the world. The steppe grasslands are at their best in Autumn, providing a beautiful setting for a horseback adventure. And of course, Mongolia’s capital city of Ulaanbaatar is worth a visit any time of year. But in Autumn, the city comes alive with traditional festivals and cultural events. So if you’re looking for an adventure this Autumn, Mongolia is the perfect destination.

Before You Travel To Mongolia
- Make sure you book your tickets well in advance to get the best deals. Mongolia is off the beaten track by travel standards, so leaving your tickets until the last minute may not give you many options.
- Make sure your vaccinations are up to date. Although Mongolia isn’t known for being really dangerous making sure you have had your tetanus and rabies shot is a must.
- Make sure you have travel insurance. Mongolia can be a long way from home so it’s better to have peace of mind here.
- Keep up to date with your nation’s embassy and travel alerts
